Solutions to Hunger in the US

Today you will use two resources to identify and evaluate the possible solutions to hunger in the US. You and a partner will follow the steps for each of the websites below.

1. What national programs does this organization reference?
2. How do these programs help stop hunger?
3. Go to "Child Nutrition Programs."
4. How do child nutrition programs help stop hunger? What do they need to do to be more effective? (Give details - this answer should be 4-5 sentences).
5. Go back.
6. Go to "Good Jobs."
7. Why are jobs no longer a reliable way to feed a family? What needs to be done? (Give details - this answer should be 4-5 sentences).

For www.frac.org:
1. What was the goal announced by President Obama during his campaign? Do you think this is achievable?
2. What are the 7 strategies that FRAC is pursuing to help Obama achieve this goal?
3. In 1-2 sentences, explain how each strategy will help achieve the goal.
